Ray, first serviced one of the house fireplaces 5 or 6 years ago with excellent results. The other one went out this past February and I called Ray immediately. Not only did he make the minor repair, but also did a preventive maintenance check on the other. From there he told me about the remote controls, explaining the advantage, specifically the timer feature so you do not burn your fireplace too long—I was sold and had him install them on both fireplaces. I only wish I could have the remote for the outdoor fireplace, but it’s not compatible. Just last week (end of October 2018) one of the fireplaces would not lite and showed no pilot lite. Ray walked me through the lighting process over the phone—Success! Saved me a service call and I will remember this troubleshooting if it ever happens again. Can’t say enough good things about Ray or anything to more highly recommend him.

My fireplace wasn't working properly, so I looked around for a repairman. Ray the fireplace guy came up and there were several outstanding reviews about his work.I called him on Wed.12/20/17 in the afternoon. We spoke and I told him the problems I was having. He said he would be able to come on Thurs. 12/21/17 in the morning between 10 am and noon.He called 15 min. b4 arriving. He began telling me all the things that could be wrong with it. Then he began his dianogis, he checked EVERYTHING, from the switch to the sensors to the gas line . He found that the main sensor was very weak. we discussed all the different scenerios and costs and I had had him put a new sensor in. He went over EVERYTHING that a person should know when they have a gas fireplace in their home. He is the most thorough repair I have ever encountered. Very professional and courtious. If anyone should ever need their fireplace repaired, DO NOT hesitate to call him.

I have a Grand Turbo that is 10+ years old that I have cooked on hundreds of times. About six months ago we started smelling gas, so my wife called Southwest Gas to check it out. They concluded that we had a bad valve, so they shut off the gas line to it. As the weather started getting better this spring, I wanted to use my grill. I searched the internet and found links to a couple of local BBQ repair companies. The first one I called said that I needed to replace the whole BBQ and he could do that for $3,800; he had not even seen it! Next, I called Ray. I texted him a picture of the valve and he told me what I needed to replace it. So I ordered a replacement valve and the sealer on the internet and tried to do the repair. Unfortunately, I ran into problems so I called Ray again. He gave me a pep-talk and told me what I need to do, so I tried again. After spending a few hours on it, I gave up, raised the white flag and called Ray again. Ray showed up on time, and it was Saturday morning, he was professional and took care of business. A couple of hours later, it was fixed, including breaking down and cleaning the other five valves that were getting hard to turn. Long story short, my grill worked great that night for a couple of Ribeye steaks from CostCo! Thanks Ray, it was well worth the money!!!

Two "professional" inspectors told us the fireplace in our recently purchased home would be a nice decoration, but would never be a working fireplace. Called Ray and explained our problem. He could have come and inspected it and charged us for a service call, but he said he was familiar with our fireplace and suggested we send him detailed photos instead. We sent the requested photos, and he said it was not an quick, easy fix, but he could make it work like new. In a few days he had the parts needed, arrived promptly and proceeded to turn a "nice decoration" into a beautiful working fireplace. The repairs were less than half the cost of replacement, and he stuck to his estimate. Ray is not only a very well versed repairman, he is professional yet personable. Ray arrived when he said he would and did what he said he would do. Very refreshing in today's world. Thanks Ray!

Ray brought a used fireplace back to life... and then a few weeks later I could not get it to light (beyond lighting the pilot). I called him and he returned my call quickly, walked me through the process and immediately identified what I had done wrong. He could have made a house call and charged me $120.00! We needed service on our 2 /15 year old non-working fireplaces. Neither would light with its automatic switch. We found Ray online and were impressed with his reviews. I called Ray to "tune up" our grill, it had never been serviced in 9 years. He asked me what exactly was going on with it, and told me it probably only needed to be cleaned. He said he could come out and work on it, but a good cleaning would probably work. Plus, he told me that it would need to be cleaned anyway, and I should clean it before I paid him. He gave me the name and number of Fred, from Back 2 New BBQ, and told me to call if I still needed help. Ray was right. I called Fred and he cleaned the grill and everything works perfectly! As far as I am concerned, Ray is THE MAN! I will use and recommend him as long as he is in business. Ray, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Ray Reconfigured my fireplace logs and checked the operation of my fireplace. Tuned up gas grill This was a great experience. Ray returned my call and I explained my problem. He went through his price list and we set up an appointment for the following day. Ray called me and told me he was on the way even though he was right on time.
He also checked the pilot light My handman had torn apart my fireplace to relight the pilot light. He could not get it back together. Ray quickliy put the logs together and offered me several low cost suggestions to improve the appearance of the fireplace.
From there it was on to the grill. I thought a burner was out, but it wasn't. He took apart the grill, tuned it up and made sure everyting was in good working order. Ray also made a recommendation for a professional grill cleaner.
My husband is seriously handicapped. Over the last 2 years, I have had to take on the maintenance of this house. I am someone who is not mechanically inclined. My husband did all the maintenance and never showed me anything about it. I really appreciate Ray because he was willing to come to our house on this minor service call and took the time to explain how to maintain both the fireplace and grill. I always worry about gas, but after Ray's inspection, I feel safe. Thank you Donna!

December 30, 2011 Ray re-lit the pilot on my gas fireplace and checked how well it was lighting and functioning. Ray also checked my gas barbeque grill and replaced the ignitor. He made sure all of the burners were lighting efficiently and then I asked him about replacing the ignitor on the gas burner next to the grill and he did that as well and didn't charge me any additional labor fees! I have to admit when I read the reviews of Ray's company on Angie's List I thought, "c'mon, this can't be for real!" But Ray is for real. He is a true professional. Plus he is friendly and personable. He doesn't try to sell you things you don't need--he explains everything and then lets you decide. It is really rare to run into someone like Ray who comes to your house to repair things! I would highly recommend Ray to anyone who needs a fireplace or gas BBQ grill repaired. There is NO ONE in Las Vegas who works on gas BBQ grills except Ray--trust me I made lots of calls and no one performs work on these grills! Ray told me on the phone he specialized in Turbo grills which is the brand I have; I thought WOW, I scored! I could go on and on but suffice it to say that the experience with Ray was the best I've had in the past few years. Oh, and I spent the beautiful weekend grilling fish on the barbeque which made the New Year holiday weekend super special. Thanks, Ray!~

December 16, 2011 Fantastic service, Nanosecond response. Fireplace hadn't worked in 13 years. Nice to finally have it up and running. Ray was great and I would recommend him highly. We have a gas fireplace that never worked from the day we purchased the house. Ray came out and check for leaks, checked all the fittings, had to replace a valve. It took about an hour and a half to resolve all issues, but Ray had it up and running for the first time since the house was built. How much nicer it is to look at a pleasant fire then the black plastic that covered the fireplace opening for 13 years. Yea, Ray!!!!

His 20 yrs of service in the Air Force as a highly trained technical expert having responsibility for ensuring the safety of our sophisticated jet aircraft in Iraq and other strategic air force bases around the world..well prepared him for his current role repairing anything connected with fire place and/or gas barbecue grills. i won't hesitate to use Ray again whenever I have a problem with my gas fire places or bbq grill. December 05, 2011 Our gas fireplace would turn on only occasionally so I called Ray at noon. He came to my house less than an hour later and looked at the fireplace and told me it needed new parts under the firebox as the old one was sticking (11 yrs. old) and said it wasn't repairable. He put the new one in and showed me a remote control for the fireplace. I had him put that in as well. It added $200 to the original estimate but has a lifetime warranty so I went with it. He was courteous, professional and did exactly what he said. I would hire him again if my BBQ goes out. It went about as smoothly as could be.~

Called Ray because of the" A" rating to fix fireplace on my sister's home. Her Fireplace did not light when the gas was turned on. Called Ray to repair. He was very porompt, able to make service call same day, fixed problem right away. He mentioned the fireplace could have a remote control installed for additional price so decided to give to my sister for Christmas. Loved the install so much I had Ray also install remote in my house!! That is why the cost is high, Two remote control units. I will recommend Ray to anyone needing gas appliance repair. Green Valley Guy! 11/22/2011 A quick search for a repair online, showed Ray at the top, and a Veteran to boot. So he gets the call. We agreed that he would try to fit us in some time this week since he was already so busy. We were not in a rush. A few hours later he calls to say that he had a cancellation and could be at the house in 30min. The man shows up to the door READY. Tool belt loaded with everything he thought he would need. Ray was very respectful (Ray: thanks for the kind word on our Flags) , offered to take off his boots even! Took his time, patiently worked through a difficult set of baked sensors... and had the right parts on him! In no time we were reassembled, cleaned up, and back online. My gas fireplace had not worked well since I'd had it moved 3 years ago... and then finally quit working yesterday. So I read the other reviews for this service and called Ray. Ray came out today and quickly identified the problem and fixed it. He also rearranged the logs and our fire never looked better! Also, the BBQ igniter had not worked in about 2 years... so I asked Ray to look at that and he identified the problem and quickly fixed it. I also thought the price for these repairs were very fair. I highly recommend this service to anyone who wants a reliable, efficient and cost effective repairs.

I called Ray to have him come out and inspect my gas fireplace. He also suggested (and I agreed to) installing a remote for greater convenience in operating the fireplace. Member Comments: Ray was excellent. As always I trust the service people that are rated on Angies list and again I was not disapointed. Ray did a complete system check on my gas fireplace and assured me that everytning was OK. He also showed me how to light the pilot as I have never had a gas fireplace only wood buring fireplaces. He then installed a remote control for the fireplace that now makes the fireplace operation much more convenient.
Ray has extensive experience with gas operated fireplaces/BBQ's and that combined with his professional approach makes him an excellent choice if you need this type of service.
I plan to have Ray out each fall to inspect my fireplace prior to my using it.

Called Ray last year around Thanksgiving when we really wanted our fireplace to work, and he came right over in the late afternoon/early evening to help us. He did explain his fees up front and what the repair of our fireplace might require. It required a bit more repair than we thought, but Ray fixed it, and that very evening we enjoyed a fire in our rebuilt fireplace. He even cleaned the inner fireplace glass! Overall, it was a pleasure to do business with. Fast forward to this year, Halloween time. On the first cold day of the year, our fireplace didn't work. We called Ray! Ray patiently walked us through the pilot light re-ignition process over the phone, and saved us any service fee or house-call charge. The man is Honest, Helpful...and yes, Handsome. My gas fireplace had not worked for about three years. There was a part that needed to be replaced and some wires that were not well connected. He tested for gas leaks, replaced the faulty part (a pilot generator) and tightened the wire connections. I called Ray on a Tuesday and he scheduled an appointment for the next Saturday (the only day that i could be home). He called before he came, was on time and took his work boots off before coming into my house. He diagnosed the problem, gave me an exact price for the service and parts and fixed the fireplace. When he was finished he cleaned up and even cleaned the glass doors. Ray was very pleasant, and very professional. i could not have had a better experience.

Grill cleaning included! I called asking for a general estimate in regards to a grill that wasn't working properly with the hopes I could get my grill repaired by the end of next week when my husband returned from a business trip. Ray was very helpful in giving me an idea of both worst and best case scenario and explaining his fee structure. It was clear to me from the phone call that he was very competent. My father-in-law does similar work in another town and Ray clearly knew his business well. I was able to get a next day appointment which was unexpected.
Ray arrived promptly and was courteous enough to ask if he could walk around the outside so he wouldn't bring dirt into my house. He looked at the grill and was able to quickly assess the problem quickly and give me a few options for repair. He ran into a few unexpected surprises (old stuck parts) and he knew how to get the correct parts quickly and cost effectively. The overall job certainly was far more comprehensive than when I first started (ended up converting to natural gas), but Ray did an excellent job and even cleaned the grill for us. I double checked his rates with my father-in-law (the gas inspector) and he said the rates were very fair for the work I had done and I feel that Ray did whatever he could to keep the cost of the work down.
Ray informed me that annual cleaning and inspection services are available and we intend to take advantage of this service in the future. We were very happy with the experience. I recommend Ray to anyone. I was going to buy a new BBQ and he fixed everything so the old BBQ is working perfect! I saved over $1000 so I did not have to buy a new drop in grill. He replaced all the parts. A month later, a part wasn't working and I called him. He was at my house in one hour! he put another part in and there was no charge. You can not go wrong with this guy!

To replace my stainless (neglected) built in gas grill would have cost me big bucks but for a reasonable price Ray gave it a thorough fixin' - replacing the ignitor, cleaning the gas thingamajiggies and blah blah blah, teaching me how to start it up and identify parts. He is super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. If I hadn't called Ray I'd still be wishing I could use the grill. Since then I've been a griling fool. Thanks Ray, I will recommend you to anyone looking to get assistance with their grill or other "gas" issues. My DH was jealous but he's glad I called you too!

He also thoroughly inspected our three gas fireplaces to insure all were in good working order and instructed us as to how to turn on/off pilot lights. Member Comments: Ray was professional from the first phone call, carefully explaining his services. He gave me a spot on estimate (without me even asking), and explained exactly what he would do. He showed up on time, was pleasant and efficient, communicated helpful info to us, and was careful to keep things neat and tidy. Best Advice Ever!
05/13/2011-- Ray is the man! Talk about integrity...I called Ray for assistance in getting my propane grill up and running. I'd tried everything before calling him in an effort to get it to work. Changed tanks, reset the regulator safety device multiple times, cleaned the manifolds and burners, the whole nine yards. After calling, he suggested that I change the regulator on my own, which I thought was beyond my capabilities. He explained the simplicity of it and I followed his instructions with great success. Within 3 minutes my BBQ was operating at 400 degrees. I don't think it ever reached those temps since I purchased it last year! Rather than hit me over the head for his service call fee, parts and labor, I scored a $20 regulator from Lowes and installed it on my own based on his advice. He took a golden opportunity to put extra money in his pocket and chose to do the right thing. That's what I call good and ethical business practice. Thanks so much, Ray! Great Service on my BBQ/ Fireplace & Firepit 5/08/2011
Changed starters on main grill and side grill. Completely cleaned grill and tested all components to make certain they were working properly. Checked out gas fireplace and firepit and serviced those as well. Member Comments: Ray arrived on time and was very thorough. He explained everything in detail and made certain the grill area was cleaned before he left. Will definitely use him in the future and recommend his service to others.

Safety check, turned on gas and fireplace, and installed a remote control to turn on and off the fireplace. Ray was fantastic. We needed our fireplaces 'turned on' because this is our first winter in this home, and he came out the same day and not only performed a safety check, he also had the parts that were required to properly operate the fireplace. He suggested that we install a remote control so we don't have to get up to turn the fireplace on or off, and it is super simple and very easy. He did all this in a hour! Inspected the gas fireplace, logs and line to make sure the fireplace was working and safe to operate. Ray promptly returned our call and was able to make an appointment for the same day. He arrived at our house exactly when he said he would. Ray was extremely courteous, performed his inspection and showed us how to use the fireplace. He gave some great advice on where to purchase sand and supplies to "spruce up" our fireplace. He carefully cleaned up the area when he was done, and left it in pristine condition. We will use Ray again to hook up a new barbeque and for other work that he performs, he provides excellent service and we highly recommend him!

I have lived in Las Vegas for 11 years and have never had what I would call good service done on anything at my house My electric starting gas fireplace hasn't worked in 5 years. I called someone out who said I needed a complete new unit and some tile work done, costing over $3,000 ! I called Ray and he came the same day and within 5 mins. had my problems diagnosed. I had air in the line and an electrician installed the wrong kind of switch. Within 15 mins. my fireplace was working and working better than it did when I bought the house (it was only only 8 months old)! This company does excellent work, is friendly, customer focused and above all - HONEST ! I give Ray 10 stars ********** ! Originally we were told that our fireplace did not have a model number and therefore could not be repaired, this was by a referral repair service from Southwest Gas. Our home is only 8 years old and we were not going to be without our fireplace. After contacting Ray he quickly diagnosed the problem and had it up and burning within minutes. He even tried to clean our fireplace glass. What a true gentleman! Not to mention his fee is reasonable and well worth every penny.

Fireplace log set is several years old at least 8 years plus, this past winter it would not operate properly, it kept going out after a few minutes. I wanted to take care of the problem before this winter. Ray replaced the igniter parts on gas (propane) log insert and it operated like a champ. Now I can to face the colder weather and enjoy a bit of ambiance. I searched for local fireplace repair and read reviews on another sites before narrowing down possibilities. I chose this provider because he listed extensive hours for Monday through Sunday and he had very good reviews. Called Ray and arranged an appointment for the same afternoon. Amazing. Ray arrived promptly and checked out the gas log appliance. He thought that the igniter's were most likely the problem and quoted a price. He also asked if I had a discount coupon, I didn't but was aware of the bonus and he honored my description of the website discount. I agreed to the price and he quickly (less than 15 minutes) replaced the parts and started up the appliance. During the replacement he took great care not to make a mess, protected my granite and cleaned up the area afterward as well as washing the fireplace screen glass! He gave me the used parts and stated he guarantees his work. The service was professional, fast, reasonably priced and most of all effective. I would like other Angie List subscribers to know how pleased I was with Ray and this service.

Ray, first serviced one of the house fireplaces 5 or 6 years ago with excellent results. The other one went out this past February and I called Ray immediately. Not only did he make the minor repair, but also did a preventive maintenance check on the other. From there he told me about the remote controls, explaining the advantage, specifically the timer feature so you do not burn your fireplace too long—I was sold and had him install them on both fireplaces. I only wish I could have the remote for the outdoor fireplace, but it’s not compatible. Just last week (end of October 2018) one of the fireplaces would not lite and showed no pilot lite. Ray walked me through the lighting process over the phone—Success! Saved me a service call and I will remember this troubleshooting if it ever happens again. Can’t say enough good things about Ray or anything to more highly recommend him.

My fireplace wasn't working properly, so I looked around for a repairman. Ray the fireplace guy came up and there were several outstanding reviews about his work.I called him on Wed.12/20/17 in the afternoon. We spoke and I told him the problems I was having. He said he would be able to come on Thurs. 12/21/17 in the morning between 10 am and noon.He called 15 min. b4 arriving. He began telling me all the things that could be wrong with it. Then he began his dianogis, he checked EVERYTHING, from the switch to the sensors to the gas line . He found that the main sensor was very weak. we discussed all the different scenerios and costs and I had had him put a new sensor in. He went over EVERYTHING that a person should know when they have a gas fireplace in their home. He is the most thorough repair I have ever encountered. Very professional and courtious. If anyone should ever need their fireplace repaired, DO NOT hesitate to call him.

I have a Grand Turbo that is 10+ years old that I have cooked on hundreds of times. About six months ago we started smelling gas, so my wife called Southwest Gas to check it out. They concluded that we had a bad valve, so they shut off the gas line to it. As the weather started getting better this spring, I wanted to use my grill. I searched the internet and found links to a couple of local BBQ repair companies. The first one I called said that I needed to replace the whole BBQ and he could do that for $3,800; he had not even seen it! Next, I called Ray. I texted him a picture of the valve and he told me what I needed to replace it. So I ordered a replacement valve and the sealer on the internet and tried to do the repair. Unfortunately, I ran into problems so I called Ray again. He gave me a pep-talk and told me what I need to do, so I tried again. After spending a few hours on it, I gave up, raised the white flag and called Ray again. Ray showed up on time, and it was Saturday morning, he was professional and took care of business. A couple of hours later, it was fixed, including breaking down and cleaning the other five valves that were getting hard to turn. Long story short, my grill worked great that night for a couple of Ribeye steaks from CostCo! Thanks Ray, it was well worth the money!!!

Two "professional" inspectors told us the fireplace in our recently purchased home would be a nice decoration, but would never be a working fireplace. Called Ray and explained our problem. He could have come and inspected it and charged us for a service call, but he said he was familiar with our fireplace and suggested we send him detailed photos instead. We sent the requested photos, and he said it was not an quick, easy fix, but he could make it work like new. In a few days he had the parts needed, arrived promptly and proceeded to turn a "nice decoration" into a beautiful working fireplace. The repairs were less than half the cost of replacement, and he stuck to his estimate. Ray is not only a very well versed repairman, he is professional yet personable. Ray arrived when he said he would and did what he said he would do. Very refreshing in today's world. Thanks Ray!

I called Ray to "tune up" our grill, it had never been serviced in 9 years. He asked me what exactly was going on with it, and told me it probably only needed to be cleaned. He said he could come out and work on it, but a good cleaning would probably work. Plus, he told me that it would need to be cleaned anyway, and I should clean it before I paid him. He gave me the name and number of Fred, from Back 2 New BBQ, and told me to call if I still needed help. Ray was right. I called Fred and he cleaned the grill and everything works perfectly! Ray Reconfigured my fireplace logs and checked the operation of my fireplace. Tuned up gas grill This was a great experience. Ray returned my call and I explained my problem. He went through his price list and we set up an appointment for the following day. Ray called me and told me he was on the way even though he was right on time.
He also checked the pilot light My handman had torn apart my fireplace to relight the pilot light. He could not get it back together. Ray quickliy put the logs together and offered me several low cost suggestions to improve the appearance of the fireplace.
From there it was on to the grill. I thought a burner was out, but it wasn't. He took apart the grill, tuned it up and made sure everyting was in good working order. Ray also made a recommendation for a professional grill cleaner.
My husband is seriously handicapped. Over the last 2 years, I have had to take on the maintenance of this house. I am someone who is not mechanically inclined. My husband did all the maintenance and never showed me anything about it. I really appreciate Ray because he was willing to come to our house on this minor service call and took the time to explain how to maintain both the fireplace and grill. I always worry about gas, but after Ray's inspection, I feel safe. Thank you Donna!

December 30, 2011 Ray re-lit the pilot on my gas fireplace and checked how well it was lighting and functioning. Ray also checked my gas barbeque grill and replaced the ignitor. He made sure all of the burners were lighting efficiently and then I asked him about replacing the ignitor on the gas burner next to the grill and he did that as well and didn't charge me any additional labor fees! I have to admit when I read the reviews of Ray's company on Angie's List I thought, "c'mon, this can't be for real!" But Ray is for real. He is a true professional. Plus he is friendly and personable. He doesn't try to sell you things you don't need--he explains everything and then lets you decide. It is really rare to run into someone like Ray who comes to your house to repair things! I would highly recommend Ray to anyone who needs a fireplace or gas BBQ grill repaired. There is NO ONE in Las Vegas who works on gas BBQ grills except Ray--trust me I made lots of calls and no one performs work on these grills! Ray told me on the phone he specialized in Turbo grills which is the brand I have; I thought WOW, I scored! I could go on and on but suffice it to say that the experience with Ray was the best I've had in the past few years. December 16, 2011 Fantastic service, Nanosecond response. Fireplace hadn't worked in 13 years. Nice to finally have it up and running. Ray was great and I would recommend him highly. We have a gas fireplace that never worked from the day we purchased the house. Ray came out and check for leaks, checked all the fittings, had to replace a valve. It took about an hour and a half to resolve all issues, but Ray had it up and running for the first time since the house was built. How much nicer it is to look at a pleasant fire then the black plastic that covered the fireplace opening for 13 years. Yea, Ray!!!!

December 05, 2011 Our gas fireplace would turn on only occasionally so I called Ray at noon. He came to my house less than an hour later and looked at the fireplace and told me it needed new parts under the firebox as the old one was sticking (11 yrs. old) and said it wasn't repairable. He put the new one in and showed me a remote control for the fireplace. I had him put that in as well. It added $200 to the original estimate but has a lifetime warranty so I went with it. He was courteous, professional and did exactly what he said. I would hire him again if my BBQ goes out. It went about as smoothly as could be.~

Called Ray because of the" A" rating to fix fireplace on my sister's home. Her Fireplace did not light when the gas was turned on. Called Ray to repair. He was very porompt, able to make service call same day, fixed problem right away. He mentioned the fireplace could have a remote control installed for additional price so decided to give to my sister for Christmas. Green Valley Guy! 11/22/2011 A quick search for a repair online, showed Ray at the top, and a Veteran to boot. So he gets the call. We agreed that he would try to fit us in some time this week since he was already so busy. We were not in a rush. A few hours later he calls to say that he had a cancellation and could be at the house in 30min. The man shows up to the door READY. Tool belt loaded with everything he thought he would need. Ray was very respectful (Ray: thanks for the kind word on our Flags) , offered to take off his boots even! Took his time, patiently worked through a difficult set of baked sensors... and had the right parts on him! In no time we were reassembled, cleaned up, and back online. I called Ray to have him come out and inspect my gas fireplace. He also suggested (and I agreed to) installing a remote for greater convenience in operating the fireplace. Member Comments: Ray was excellent. As always I trust the service people that are rated on Angies list and again I was not disapointed. Ray did a complete system check on my gas fireplace and assured me that everytning was OK. He also showed me how to light the pilot as I have never had a gas fireplace only wood buring fireplaces. He then installed a remote control for the fireplace that now makes the fireplace operation much more convenient.
Ray has extensive experience with gas operated fireplaces/BBQ's and that combined with his professional approach makes him an excellent choice if you need this type of service.
I plan to have Ray out each fall to inspect my fireplace prior to my using it.

Called Ray last year around Thanksgiving when we really wanted our fireplace to work, and he came right over in the late afternoon/early evening to help us. He did explain his fees up front and what the repair of our fireplace might require. It required a bit more repair than we thought, but Ray fixed it, and that very evening we enjoyed a fire in our rebuilt fireplace. He even cleaned the inner fireplace glass! Overall, it was a pleasure to do business with. Fast forward to this year, Halloween time. On the first cold day of the year, our fireplace didn't work. We called Ray! He tested for gas leaks, replaced the faulty part (a pilot generator) and tightened the wire connections. I called Ray on a Tuesday and he scheduled an appointment for the next Saturday (the only day that i could be home). He called before he came, was on time and took his work boots off before coming into my house. He diagnosed the problem, gave me an exact price for the service and parts and fixed the fireplace. When he was finished he cleaned up and even cleaned the glass doors. Ray was very pleasant, and very professional. i could not have had a better experience.

Grill cleaning included! I called asking for a general estimate in regards to a grill that wasn't working properly with the hopes I could get my grill repaired by the end of next week when my husband returned from a business trip. Ray was very helpful in giving me an idea of both worst and best case scenario and explaining his fee structure. It was clear to me from the phone call that he was very competent. My father-in-law does similar work in another town and Ray clearly knew his business well. I was able to get a next day appointment which was unexpected.
Ray arrived promptly and was courteous enough to ask if he could walk around the outside so he wouldn't bring dirt into my house. He looked at the grill and was able to quickly assess the problem quickly and give me a few options for repair. He ran into a few unexpected surprises (old stuck parts) and he knew how to get the correct parts quickly and cost effectively. The overall job certainly was far more comprehensive than when I first started (ended up converting to natural gas), but Ray did an excellent job and even cleaned the grill for us. I double checked his rates with my father-in-law (the gas inspector) and he said the rates were very fair for the work I had done and I feel that Ray did whatever he could to keep the cost of the work down.
Ray informed me that annual cleaning and inspection services are available and we intend to take advantage of this service in the future. We were very happy with the experience. I recommend Ray to anyone. I was going to buy a new BBQ and he fixed everything so the old BBQ is working perfect! I saved over $1000 so I did not have to buy a new drop in grill. He replaced all the parts. A month later, a part wasn't working and I called him. He was at my house in one hour! he put another part in and there was no charge. You can not go wrong with this guy!

To replace my stainless (neglected) built in gas grill would have cost me big bucks but for a reasonable price Ray gave it a thorough fixin' - replacing the ignitor, cleaning the gas thingamajiggies and blah blah blah, teaching me how to start it up and identify parts. He is super knowledgeable and fun to talk to. If I hadn't called Ray I'd still be wishing I could use the grill. Since then I've been a griling fool. Thanks Ray, I will recommend you to anyone looking to get assistance with their grill or other "gas" issues. My DH was jealous but he's glad I called you too!

He also thoroughly inspected our three gas fireplaces to insure all were in good working order and instructed us as to how to turn on/off pilot lights. Member Comments: Ray was professional from the first phone call, carefully explaining his services. He gave me a spot on estimate (without me even asking), and explained exactly what he would do. He showed up on time, was pleasant and efficient, communicated helpful info to us, and was careful to keep things neat and tidy. Best Advice Ever!
05/13/2011-- Ray is the man! Talk about integrity...I called Ray for assistance in getting my propane grill up and running. I'd tried everything before calling him in an effort to get it to work. Changed tanks, reset the regulator safety device multiple times, cleaned the manifolds and burners, the whole nine yards. After calling, he suggested that I change the regulator on my own, which I thought was beyond my capabilities. He explained the simplicity of it and I followed his instructions with great success. Within 3 minutes my BBQ was operating at 400 degrees. I don't think it ever reached those temps since I purchased it last year! Rather than hit me over the head for his service call fee, parts and labor, I scored a $20 regulator from Lowes and installed it on my own based on his advice. He took a golden opportunity to put extra money in his pocket and chose to do the right thing. That's what I call good and ethical business practice. Thanks so much, Ray! I got a beer waiting with your name on it!

Great Service on my BBQ/ Fireplace & Firepit 5/08/2011
Changed starters on main grill and side grill. Completely cleaned grill and tested all components to make certain they were working properly. Checked out gas fireplace and firepit and serviced those as well. Member Comments: Ray arrived on time and was very thorough. He explained everything in detail and made certain the grill area was cleaned before he left. Will definitely use him in the future and recommend his service to others.

Safety check, turned on gas and fireplace, and installed a remote control to turn on and off the fireplace. Ray was fantastic. We needed our fireplaces 'turned on' because this is our first winter in this home, and he came out the same day and not only performed a safety check, he also had the parts that were required to properly operate the fireplace. He suggested that we install a remote control so we don't have to get up to turn the fireplace on or off, and it is super simple and very easy. He did all this in a hour! Inspected the gas fireplace, logs and line to make sure the fireplace was working and safe to operate. Ray promptly returned our call and was able to make an appointment for the same day. He arrived at our house exactly when he said he would. Ray was extremely courteous, performed his inspection and showed us how to use the fireplace. He gave some great advice on where to purchase sand and supplies to "spruce up" our fireplace. He carefully cleaned up the area when he was done, and left it in pristine condition. We will use Ray again to hook up a new barbeque and for other work that he performs, he provides excellent service and we highly recommend him!

I have lived in Las Vegas for 11 years and have never had what I would call good service done on anything at my house My electric starting gas fireplace hasn't worked in 5 years. I called someone out who said I needed a complete new unit and some tile work done, costing over $3,000 ! I called Ray and he came the same day and within 5 mins. had my problems diagnosed. I had air in the line and an electrician installed the wrong kind of switch. Within 15 mins. my fireplace was working and working better than it did when I bought the house (it was only only 8 months old)! Originally we were told that our fireplace did not have a model number and therefore could not be repaired, this was by a referral repair service from Southwest Gas. Our home is only 8 years old and we were not going to be without our fireplace. After contacting Ray he quickly diagnosed the problem and had it up and burning within minutes. He even tried to clean our fireplace glass. What a true gentleman! Not to mention his fee is reasonable and well worth every penny.

Fireplace log set is several years old at least 8 years plus, this past winter it would not operate properly, it kept going out after a few minutes. I wanted to take care of the problem before this winter. Ray replaced the igniter parts on gas (propane) log insert and it operated like a champ. Now I can to face the colder weather and enjoy a bit of ambiance. I searched for local fireplace repair and read reviews on another sites before narrowing down possibilities. I chose this provider because he listed extensive hours for Monday through Sunday and he had very good reviews. Called Ray and arranged an appointment for the same afternoon. Amazing. Ray arrived promptly and checked out the gas log appliance. He thought that the igniter's were most likely the problem and quoted a price. He also asked if I had a discount coupon, I didn't but was aware of the bonus and he honored my description of the website discount. I agreed to the price and he quickly (less than 15 minutes) replaced the parts and started up the appliance. During the replacement he took great care not to make a mess, protected my granite and cleaned up the area afterward as well as washing the fireplace screen glass! He gave me the used parts and stated he guarantees his work. The service was professional, fast, reasonably priced and most of all effective. I would like other Angie List subscribers to know how pleased I was with Ray and this service.

Fireplace repair by Ross - 12/21/2009 We had a gas fireplace that wouldn't stay lit, I called Ray and he was able to come out within the hour to fix it. The last person who came to check on it said I needed to replace the gas control valve. Ray pointed out that that hardly every goes out and it was probably something less expensive, which it was.
